What's up, everyone?!

Well, it's been almost 2 weeks now that we haven't seen one another. I've been missing you guys.

This message is basically to say hello and to let you guys know that as of tomorrow at 8am classes will be on again.

Hope all of you had a great holiday (mine was awesome! Thanks)

We should be carrying on with Unit 12 and we'll have to try to get it done by 12pm. We'll also be having a presentation, which is supposed to be given by Grace.

Think that's all for the moment.

Warm regards,

Teacher Jonas

Hi there, everyone!

Hope this message finds all of you guys well. :D

I'm posting on here the Answer Key for Unit 12 The Right Stuff. I expect we'll be starting Unit 13 on next Saturday. Need you all to come ready for us to do things more quickly so that we can make the most of the time we share together weekly.

Lucinda is the one who is going to presente a piece of news this class.

So, there you go...

Cheers,

Teacher Jonas

(mensagem em português a seguir)
Hi there, everyone!

My name is Jonas Saldanha, some of you have already met me, but others have not. I am the substitute teacher who is going to replace Teacher Camila for the rest of the semester.

I already started teaching your group last Saturday morning, but only some of the students showed up, unfortunately. However, the fact that you guys did not have the information that another teacher would be coming last Saturday (as I was told by the ones who went to class), your absense is totally understandable.

Last class we started "Unit 12 - The Right Stuff". We saw ways through which we can express what is necessary to be done to reach purposes/goals. All the content of last class is in the textbook.

So the main objective of this message is to tell you guys to COME to USP tomorrow morning (May, 18th) because THERE WILL BE class, and I shall be there by 7.50am. Same classroom, same group.

I am looking forward to meeting all of you guys.

Cheers,

Teacher Jonas

--------

Na última aula, nós iniciamos "Unit 12 - The Right Stuff".

Prof. Jonas

Audiobooks

Hi guys!

A very interesting way to practice both listening and reading skills is to listen to audiobooks. I found a website that offers over 3000 free audiobooks:

http://www.booksshouldbefree.com/

You can download the audio and follow the reading with a written copy. Many of these titles are available to download on the Internet.

One of the best free ebook websites is Project Gutemberg:

But there are also these ones:

Unit 9 - Part I

Hi guys! In the first part of the lesson we learned how to say that you have someone do something for you / you have something done for you. There are some websites with extra practice:

Welcome!

Hi folks! How are you?

This semester we will try something different: this blog will be our "official" platform. Here you will be able to find the class and coffee break schedules, the answer key and links to extra exercises. Feel welcome to comment and make suggestions.
